Favre and the Green Bay Packers were like high school sweethearts. Everyone thought they would last forever and it was obvious that the Packers were wrapped around Favre’s finger. A funny thing happened on the way to the altar though. The Packers decided they did not want to be tied down by Favre and his aging body anymore at their quarterback position. Favre could have walked away at that point, being a life long Packer, and forever revered in Green Bay, Wisconsin. However, he was not ready to quit playing and turned into a girl craving attention. He wanted to be wanted. Something that the Packers had provided him for well over a decade. So the Jets became his rebound. They wanted him and that is all Brett needed- a little attention. Now that the Jets have determined they no longer want their hands tied at quarterback by an aging veteran they cut ties with him. Now it’s the Vikings that Favre wants around his finger.

With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.

After 17 years as the Green Bay Packers quarterback, the legendary and future hall of famer 3 time MVP Brett Favre is set to retire.

"I know I can still play, but it's like I told my wife, I'm just tired mentally. I'm just tired," Favre, a three-time NFL MVP, told ESPN's Chris Mortensen in a voice mail message.
