Kotsay It's Not True

New Atlanta Braves General Manager, Frank Wren, appeared to have pulled off a gem of a deal when he traded for Mark Kotsay to replace Andruw Jones in centerfield.  So far this season, Kotsay is hitting .294 with four homeruns and twenty-one RBIs.  However, the gem could be tarnishing as Kotsay has missed twelve Braves games this season and has no timetable for a return.  Kotsay only played 56 games all of last season with the Oakland A's as he battled back injuries and eventually had back surgery.  Kotsay's absence thus far this season has been noticed but has not cast much worry in the minds of Braves fans as Gregor Blanco has filled in hitting .274.  Let's hope as Braves fans that Kotsay is able to make his return and be the pertinent piece to the Braves' team that we all hoped he'd be.  Remember this isn't the first time that the Braves have taken a chance on an injury ladened outfielder.  In 2004, the Braves and then GM John Schuerholtz signed the often-injured J.D. Drew who'd hit .305 with 31 homeruns and 93 RBIs that season.  That deal turned out to be as good a deal as one could hope to make in the Majors.  Get well soon Mark.
