Alex Rodriguez
This past week we had the coming out party by All-Star third basemen Alex Rodriguez on the issue of his steroid use. Many people were unshocked and eager to attack as this baseball player is the viva piñata of excellence of MLB haters and lovers. Whether he told the whole truth is irrelevant, some people have no reaction to this and baseball fans are many of those some. Fans and professional sports writers over the age of 50 and all those guys in Cooperstown or those who hold the vote for it are understandably upset. The fact he didn't include any dealers, how he got it and why wait till you get caught issue are also matters of talk for them. However, the stadiums will be packed for every NY Yankees game now with people waiting in line to take their shot at A-Rod. There will be plastic syringes posters and faces of Madonna wandering around as well as blonde strippers bodies all to take away the concentration off him. The shouts will be bigger and badder this year and I believe he is ready for that. Many people here in New England specially have down played the offseason for the Yankees as far as their roster acquisitions but I think that this team barring any major injury has enough to become a title contender again. All those new guys will not have any real pressure now because every day, all the time the attention will be in Mr. Rodriguez corner. His last at-bat, their latest loss, his errors on the field, etc. So the likes of Teixeira, Burnett, Sabathia and the rest of the Bronx Bombers will corale around that circus and play freely. I only see 3 scenarios unfolding for him this year. Either he has an average A-Rod season, falls off the horse like Andruw Jones, or he has a great season. If he does ok and the Yankees win it or he has a a good post season and come up short of the champsionship, all those mad men will get off his back as far as the Hall of Fame discharge which as seen on ESPN they would still vote him in if were to retire today.
